The painter Rembrandt van Rijn was born in Leiden. He grew up there and were schooled as a painter there. After that he moved to Amsterdam, where he worked (a lot!) and died. That's why Amsterdam also deserved an unique cityscape with Rembrandt just as Leiden.

Left: his house where he lived and worked, next: his statue at the Rembrandtplein, next: a mill in Amsterdam that he drew, next to it the Westertoren (a plaque of honor is in there for him) and right the place where he died.
